Our motor cruising courses are run in conjunction with Mendez Marine who's co-principals are Paul & Venessa McCabe. Mendez Marine are a Power and Motor Cruising specialist school based on the River Hamble. The main school boat is a Princess 368, flybridge motor cruiser equipped to the highest MCA commercial standards, and has the latest Raymarine plotters, radar and AIS. The vessel is powered by twin Cummins 300HP motors powering shafts. Courses are run with a maximum of four students so you have plenty of hands on helming. Accommodation for 6, divided between 1 x double, 1 x twin and a pull out double in the saloon. She is a very well looked after boat, nicely equipped and much loved by both instructors and the students who have trained on her.
Theoretical knowledge of offshore and coastal navigation, pilotage and meteorology.
Has the knowledge and ability to skipper a motor cruiser on coastal cruises but not necessarily the experience needed to undertake longer passages. Has the same theoretical knowledge as a Yachtmaster but not as much practical experience to enable him or her to perform as smoothly or consistently
